This is new installation of iMatch 2021.18.4 on Windows 10

I restored from a Pack and Go from my other machine.
The Categories panel appears OK on the right.
The Categories tab on the left showed only @All on the left, no individual categories.
I exported my categories from the other machine with the same iMatch version but running Windows 11.
The import to this machine appeared to progress as expected but I still get only @All on the left.
I have attached shots of the right and left views.
I guess I must be missing something in this process and would be grateful to get some guidance.

You exported categories how and imported them how?
Categories are stored in your database and automatically "travel" with the database.

The export/import functions are only needed when you want to transfer categories to another database. Is this what you did?

When you use Pack & Go, it restored your database, containing all categories. No separate export/import is needed.

The database in screen shot one has no categories, just 100K files.
Is this the same database as on the other machine? If so, were did the categories get lost?
Or is this a new database and you wanted to import categories into it?

I'm not really understanding what you did and in which sequence or how a database can lose all categories.

Using the export and import functions in iMatch

That is what I did

It is the same database.
If so, were did the categories get lost?
That is my question

Exactly the sequence as I described in my original post.

Categories cannot get lost. There is no command or feature in IMatch which removes all categories, especially not the system categories like @Builder or @Keywords. They are non-removable (and are not exported or imported either).

How did you create the new database?
Each IMatch database starts with a standard set of categories imported from a schema that is included in IMatch. And system categories like @Builder and @Keywords are always created when the database is created. They are non-deletable.

Did you close and reopen IMatch?
Did you run a database diagnosis (Database menu > Tools) so ensure the database is OK?
Does the log file show any warnings or errors (see log file).

Out of the blue:
of course click on the @All-Categorie and refresh (F5 or the two curled blue arrows) does not help?
Best wishes from Switzerland! :-)

Is it possible that this is some kind of a display problem of the Windows tree control? More precisely, that only the "plus" sign used to expand the @All category is not shown?
Try this: Context menu on the "@All" category > Expand & Collapse > Expand children. Do the sub categories appear?

Within the Categories View, there is the possibility to both search and filter for categories.  One possibility is that you may have inadvertently/accidentally/unintentionally typed some text into the filter data entry field, and since there are no matches, you have this only-the-top-level display of your categories.  If this is the case, clearing that data entry field (drop down>Reset Filter) should solve the problem.

Both good points and worth to check. Thanks Thorsten and Darius.
