Is it OK to store multiple database files in the same folder, together?

This feels like a kinda dumb question, especially considering some of the tutorials that I have written. But here we are...

I am speaking of the .imd5 files. 

I am one of those rare people who is choosing to maintain multiple separate databases, to keep separate things separate. (I am not interested in debating whether this is a good idea. There are already plenty of other threads about that.) I also know that one should not store the database files within any folders that are indexed by IMatch. It's kinda hard to miss that info in the documentation. And, I know that I shouldn't store other types of files in that folder.  

But, I have looked and looked in the documentation, searched and searched through the forum, and still cannot find any reference as to whether it is a good idea to store more than one .imd5 file in the same folder.  I know that IMatch creates temporary files in that folder. And I never plan to have more than one of those database files open at the same time (you know, by using a network connection to open different databases from different computers). Nevertheless, I am still a little concerned about putting several different .imd5 files into the same folder. I wouldn't want anything to conflict and cause problems. On the other hand, I don't want to spread things all over the place, if I don't need to.

It works locally, I use two databases in one folder since I have bought IM a few years ago. But note that some settings are database related (e.g. thesaurus, file relations) and others application related (e.g. file window layout).
I run IM only local. Therefore, I cannot say if there occur issues if you try to open the same database multiple times via shared folders or something occurs while opening several databases in the same shared folder. If in doubt, I would try with some test databases.

Like Rene, I have not only one database in the same folder.
In fact, I have 3, from time to time even more, when I create a new one for tests.

And this since many years. To be honest, I have never thought about this fact, I have never ever thought, that this could be a problem. 
Hence I do not really know. I use only 1 database at one time (more is not possible locally) and that's it.

That's what I thought. Sometimes I worry about things that everyone else just takes for granted.
