Applications favorites grid

My application favorites used to appear in a grid, two to a row I think. Since the last iMatch update the application favorites now appear one to each line. I would like to restore the grid, but cannot find how to do this. (The Folder History is displaying two favorites per row, and the Category History is displaying one favorite per row.)

Make sure the option "Use compact layout" is enabled for Favorites in Edit menu > Preferences > Applications.
Search for fav in that dialog to find the setting.

Thanks. I looked in Preferences and that setting is already chosen. I tried closing and reopening iMatch but that has not solved the issue either.

The width of the Favorites panel and the maximum width of the favorite entries are also relevant. Look at this example:

It seems that there is ample space on the left and right. So, why does IMatch put the favorites into one column instead of two? The reason is that there is not enough space to put the two longest items side by side.
But if I make the panel just a little bit wider, the layout changes to

Therefore, I would first try to make the panel a bit wider to check if the grid layout reappears.

@thrinn is correct. The Favorite Panel uses a dynamic layout, where the longest title controls how favorite tiles wrap.
If you made the Favorites Panel narrower or you renamed a Favorite to use a longer title or the font settings on your system have changed, the tiles may wrap into one tile per row.

Also depends on system font size, screen resolution etc. On my screens, I have to make the Panel so narrow that the ribbon wraps into two lines due to space constraints. Only then the favorite tiles switch to "one tile per row".
