I would like to see a way we can leave a note for ourselves that would do absolutely nothing regarding metadata.  All it would do is to optionally display in each custom metadata panel layout we configure to remind us of something regarding that metadata layout.

For example a note could be a reminder of just exactly how we should type in the latitude/longitude for an image.

Do you mean a note for an entire layout, or for individual tags within that layout?
For tags I could think of uses like usage hints, fill out hints etc.

But where to display that text? In the tooltip which shows up when you point the mouse cursor at the tag name (currently the tooltip shows the fully qualified tag name as a reminder)?

Or maybe show a special icon for tags which have a note, e.g. in front of the tag name? And when you point the mouse cursor at this icon you'll see the note?

I was thinking one note for an entire layout but I like your idea about the special icon indicator for individual tags better. ;D

Or both?  ;)

Hi,

if I think about this, at the end I come to the question, where I added what ...

I use for such reminders the German "Klebezettel" for quick reminders or for more Microsoft Notes

For build 122 I've added a optional description for each tag. This description is displayed in the Metadata Panel tooltip, and a small icon is shown to indicate that a description is available.
