Pause Metadata Writeback

Currently, I have automatic metadata writeback set, and it mostly works well for me.  The reason I say mostly is occasionally I work with a larger photoshoot and my keywording workflow gets interrupted by the write-back process.  I also have an older computer now that just doesn't keep up as well.

I am requesting an ability to (a) pause writeback that is already going on [I recognize that may not be feasible] or (b) perhaps some keyboard shortcut or button to toggle the automatic writeback on or off. 

I know it may seem like a silly request, but I generally want and need the automatic writeback to be on to keep my other software in harmony with IMatch. Toggling within the preferences can work, but it would be a little nicer to not have something to go through so many steps to toggle this back and forth.
