Would like additional control when adding files to the IMATCH database:

•   Would like the ability to select which files within a folder to index.  I do not necessarily want to index ALL files within any given folder.

•   Would like the ability to view only the files associated with the most recent indexing operation.  Currently, once new files are added, they are mixed in with previously existing files and there is no way to easily identify them for subsequent tagging, etc.

1.  You can control which files IMatch adds via Edit > Preferences > File Formats.
But IMatch has been designed (like almost all DAM software) to manage all (supported) files in the folders you index.
Folders with files not visible in IMatch cause problems when you delete folders, with buddy file processing, file operations and similar. You should really separate the files you manage in your DAM from files you don't want to manage.

2.  All files recently added or updated are displayed in the corresponding collections in the Collection View. You can just look there, or use these collections to filter other views, like the Media & Folders View.

See Collections in the IMatch help for more information.

You can also specify that newly added files (and or updated ones) be assigned to a specific collections.
Set a flag for instance. As you process you new files you delete the flag to indicate that you are done.
