In the last few days Microsoft automatically updated my computer to OS Build 15063.483

I loaded new CR2 into IMatch and lo and behold only thumbnail appeared in view, Tried CRTL SHIFT F5 to reload - no change
Checked WIC through the help option in IMatch (Help > Support > WIC diagnostics)  - hmmmm using Fast cannot recognise CR2.
Did a repair on the codec... no avail

Uninstalled  - rebooted
Reinstalled - rebooted

Now all OK, looks like Microsoft overwrote something!!!!
Don't you love software vendors who push their automatic updates?
I need to work out how to stop windows updating automatically.... I know they plug security loop holes with these updates, but...

Aubrey.

I think this is either caused by WIC or by the way FPV is installed. Installing a Windows update usually does not break anything (edge cases excluded) and turning of Windows updates would be a bad idea - from a security perspective.

The only update I know of that actually required FPV codecs to be re-installed was the big Creators update.

@Aubrey: Which version of the codec do you have installed? Please have a look at the homepage from FPV. There is an technical update to version 3.8.0.97 which should address an issue that could fit to your problem. It's just an idea...

Aubrey

@Ana : I'm using 3.8.0.96 I'll look at the update.

@Mario: Not planning to switch off updates - it's almost impossible in any case. there are a few work arounds posted but not worth pursuing

Thanks

Had the same happen to me after the creators update. Since I recalled problems with FPV of the same kind I also did
what Aubrey did and it fixed it. Have FPV 3.8.0.96 - meaning not the latest.
