See attachment 1:  why does the drop menu no longer display Go to Timeline?

See attachment 2:  when using keyboard shortcut "ctrl+shift+G" ,  Timeline does not display the date.  The months shown do not even include the month of the focused file.

After using the shortcut, the initial view shows the earliest years of timeline, in this case with 1836 at the bottom of the list.

Also note that attachment 2 in the last post does not display thumbs in the file panel.

It gets worse - attachment.  I left the timeline expanded to show year, month and day.  Keyboard shortcut on 6 Aug 17 goes to and displays thumbs for 13 Jun 17

Seems to be working for me, but Timeline is under Additional Functions (I don't remember if this is a change from before).

See screenshots. Perhaps my settings are different from yours? (E.g., I have the Timeline set to display Year/Month/Day.) Is your file window set on pause?

The Goto Timeline command has been moved to Additional Functions to make the menu smaller.
Keyboard shortcut is unchanged.
This was required for small-screen computers like tablets and notebooks which use relatively low screen height in combination with font scaling.

I tried this here and it works flawlessly.
I notice in your screen shot that the file window reports "Multiple Selection". You seem to have selected multiple nodes in the timeline?
Try to select one node (or reset the selection by clicking somewhere outside the timeline nodes in the timeline window) and see if this solves your problem.

I did not consciously do a multiple selection.  I have tried it again.  In Media & Folders I selected 10 Jun 17 and went to timeline.  Thumbs for both 13 & 10 Jun were displayed.  !3 Jun had been selected yesterday, since when Imatch and the computer were shut down.  I then selected a file from 17 Jun in Media & Folders and went went to timeline with the result shown in the attachment.  Now thumbs for 10 & 17 June are displayed.  So the previous selection is being retained.

Edit:  On trying this several times with different dates I find that the results are inconsistent.  Sometimes as described above;  others OK.  ?????

Did you do, what Mario wrote? You must be sure, that first the timeline is empty. Means you must click outside somewhere in the left panel, so that the bar above from the timeline is empty and not images are shown.
If you do this not, you create multiple selections, like in your screenshots, when you select then one image.

First make the timeline empty, then select an image and then Shift Ctrl g.

This was not required in IMatch5.  People cannot be expected always to remember to go through this routine.  The old selection should be cancelled when a new one is made.

Mario

This is not required.

Goto Timeline switches to the Timeline View, locates the node for the focused file, reloads the file window and selects and focuses the file.
My idea above was just for the case something got "stuck" on yoiur machine. Since I could not repro it.

Tested this today and could not find anything. Is your PC unusually slow or fast? Maybe a timing issue?
I've changed a tiny bit and maybe this solves the problem for you (next release). I see no change, but I could not repro this before (tried two PCs and a tablet).

I await the new release.  I can live with it as is until then.  I do not think my computer is unusually slow or fast. Just mid-range Windows 7.

If I do this not (empty before the timeline, I have the same behaviour like DigPeter described.
Let's wait on the next release.  :D
