In-camera focus stacking & metadata

Confusingly the term used to describe the process in some recent cameras (Olympus TG-5, other Olympus models, Nikon D850) are very similar.
In-camera focus stacking being the process I'm trying to identify within metadata (not anything to do with any photools "stacking" issue)
The images that are shot using this process are identified as such when reviewing in the camera, but where do I find that fact in any metadata so that I can identify and flag them as such in iMatch?
Any help much appreciated.

It would help if you could provide a sample file.
Most likely this information is stored in some proprietary maker note, and not documented by any of the vendors.
ExifTool may or may not know the tag. If it knows the tag, IMatch can import it. But note that IMatch keeps most of the undocumented and binary maker notes out via the tag manager so you won't find it in IMatch.

Look at your files in the ECP and try to find a tag that looks like it contains the information you are interested in.

A)
If found, great. Check in the Metadata Panel in Browser mode to see if the tag is imported by default.
If not, enable it in the Tag Manager in IMatch.

B)
If not found, contact your camera vendor and request a full documentation of the metadata contained in your images. You are a paying customer, after all.
At least this will make them laugh their butts off. Or maybe you even get some info. Probably not. Camera vendors usually don't give a sh*t.

C)
If not found and B) is not working, ask Phil from ExifTool if he is willing to look at your files in order to figure out if and how your camera vendor is storing this information.
Provide several sample images with different settings etc. This should allow Phil and others to figure this out.
