Dears Users,

I cant´t find a way to accomplish what I want and probably is not possible  :-[ but would be an incredible time saver.

If I write in a image file of my database a given keyword from hierarchical keywords (Thesaurus), say Barcelona:

Spain
  - Madrid
  - Barcelona

Could this keyword automatically be writen to a given metadata tag of the same image file, say:

Composite\City

Thank you for your time and your neurones

Check out the help section on Metadata Templates... I think this will take care of your issue... applying your keyword to other fields automatically.

Usually the tags Country, City, Location are filled when you add GPS data to your files and perform reverse geo-coding in IMatch afterwards:

https://www.photools.com/help/imatch/#tools_revgeocoding.htm

The XMP/IPTC standards require that the location path is filled up to the highest level, which means that you should not only fill in the City, but also the level above (Country). And for best results, also the level below that (location), e.g. Sagrada Familia.

The tags Country, Country Code, City, State/Province and Location should be considered as 'one block'.

If your files don't have GPS coordinates and you don't want to add them in the Map Panel, you can use a Metadata Template (https://www.photools.com/help/imatch/#md_templates.htm) to copy metadata between tags (e.g. one or more keywords) to the City tag.

In IMatch 2018 I have added a feature that allows the user to automatically create keywords during reverse geo-coding. This makes it easy to copy County, City, Location or a combination thereof into hierarchical keywords automatically.
