How to disable "Edit Layout" pop-up?

Half the time when I click on a photograph (in the thumbnail panel) I get a pop-up window titled "Edit Layout 'Titles, Descriptions and Keywords' "

How can I prevent this panel from popping up all the time?

Look under preferences - file window - result window.
There you can turn it off

Go to Edit > Preferences > File Window. Scroll to the end and disable the option named Clicking into header/footer opens layout editor.

I've asked users, we've discussed this, and the implementation is based on the results of this discussion.

See other posts, esp from Mario, but a short answer is just to avoid clicking the top area of the thumbnail.
