Hi,

i often use the Modify Exif Date/Time functionality.
But it only works for files which contain EXIF data, therefore not for video files.

Feature Request:
The modify EXIF date and time functionality (absolut / relative) should also work with files that contain no EXIF data, e.g. video files.

I can think of different solutions.
This FR leaves it open which one to go for.

Thanks for considering this,

Only image files have EXIF data.

To manipulate date and time, use the XMP created/subject created tags. They control how IMatch arranges your files on the timeline, what IMatch uses for {File.DateTime} etc.

Yes, and video files don't

Yes, that's the way i do it with the metadatapanel and also with my apps.

What you can't do by editing the mentioned tags is, what the Modify Exif Date/Time window offers.
-> adding/substracting a certain period of time either absolute or relativ.
So this functionality should be made available for files that don't have EXIF data.

How often do you need this?
Which device are you using to create the files with the wrong date and time?

Actually that happens often to me because I'm travelling a lot between two time zones and forget to change the time(zone) on my camera(s).

Have you considered using UTC? Most traveling photographers I know have long ago switched to UTC and this solves many problems.

I have a generic "Modify Date/Time" for the Metadata Panel on my to-do list for a long time. It's just apparently not needed often enough to push it up the list.

I considered that, but I want to see the correct local time without having to calculate it each time from the UTC and the time zone.
Especially as my home is in UTC+1 (resp. UTC+2 in the summer).

Maybe once a month only

Either an older Nikon camera mostly when traveling or when friends send me pictures (those are often wrong regarding date and time)
