How to Control Sort in People View

I'm trying to change the order of the pictures I see under the "people" view.  The IMATCH Help says to control the sort order by using the "edit person" "sort by".  I put 001 and 002 in two different "people" by choosing "edit person" and then entered it in "sort by" and it did not affect the order of the pictures.  In fact, I'm not sure how it is choosing the order.  I read the help and it says it sort by the unique tag.  I have names like "Kristin" and "Diane" as names but the picture of Diane shows up close to the bottom (I have about 20 pictures showing under "People".

What am I doing wrong? I was using the first name of the person as tags but they are not showing up that way under the "People View".

Thanks!

Clicking a person in the list and pressing <F5> may help.
There seems to be an missing update for the People View when the sort order changes.
Caused by the PeopleView trying to do a minimal update. But since the sort order has changed for a person, it actually should reload all persons. Hence, F5 helps as a work-around.
I'll look into that.

Thanks hluxem and Mario for the reply.  I don't know what I just did but I hit F5 and now under "the "People View" almost all of my pictures are gone and it says "No Files".  Oh oh, did I hit F5 and F6 by mistake?  Any way to recover?  When I change the views I see the people I created but the list view that shows the people and how many images is not there anymore.  When I change views and click on a person I can see that the images for that person are still there.  It's just that the view I once used to see is gone.  I copied the application log and I looked at it but I don't see any errors.

Pressing F5 brings back the view but it still shows no files instead of the number of files.  I shut down IMATCH and I started it again but no change.  See attachment.

Thanks!

F5 or F6 (or any other key) do not remove assigned persons from files.
When you click a person, do you see files?
Use the mouse wheel to scroll the people list. Any change?
What happens if you change the layout with the layout button (Go to Edit > Preferences > Application and make sure you have selected an app locale).

App locale seems to fix this issue.

I relocated the cache in the new database I had created to test IM2020 and face recognition (I created it on a laptop I had not used IM on before, which defaulted to a location on the boot drive, which I wanted to change because I do not want to bloat my C: drive backups with cache files).

This gave the same result as kiwilink shows in his screenshot. The Face Annotations were all still there, and the correct number of images seem to be appearing in the thumbnails for each Person, but the People summaries in the left column said "No files". Metadata updating and re-create face annotations from XMP data did not solve the issue. But setting app locale to uk, then restarting, restored the previous look with People count properly displayed.  Hope this helps.

Graham1 and Mario:

Thanks!  That fixed it.  I went into Edit > Preferences > Application and I did not have anything chosen.  I chose US for locale and restarted and everything is back to normal.  Thank you so much!  I never would have found this answer on my own.  Thanks again!!

I still am unable to sort the photos so I can control the order of the pictures while in People view but I'll wait for you Mario to take a look at it.

Thanks again for helping me Graham1 and Mario!!!

The sort order problem has already been addressed and presumably solved (with the next version). See release notes #00998 and topic 9232.

Thanks for the reference.  Under the People View my first four names are Josee, Terese, Helen, and Emily.  These are the Tag names.  The full name has their last name (all the same last name).  I have a blank sort by and a blank short name.  I expected to see Emily, Helen, Josee, and then Terese (alphabetical order).  If I put numbers in the sort by (like 001, 002, etc.) and hit F5 as Mario said, they sort okay.  I just wanted to sort by tag name.

I hope I explained this correctly.  Thanks!

This has been reported, discussed, analyzed and fixed for the next release already.
