On the task manager I see exiftool and Chromiumhelper as sub-processes of Imatch.
Lately I have been seeing exiftool and Chromiumhelper also showing up as background processes.
Is that kosher?

IMatch opens several instances of ExifTool (depending on what you do in IMatch, how many processor cores your system has etc.).
IMa5tch also creates several ChromiumHelper processes - one for each app panel or service app running. These helper executables 'isolate' the browser engines from each other and IMatch, for extra safety and performance.

Since IMatch is the "hosting" application for these sub-processes, they will show up "under" the IMatch process in Windows Task Manager.
Since these processes have no user interface, Task Manager will list them as "background processes" too. Same thing. Same process id.
