Hello

With the new IMatch 2021 I have some severe performance problems. It justes freezes every few minutes for 5-15 seconds  >:(. In the Log file those stutters are logged this way:

11.02 20:50:41+    0 [5D7C] 10  M>         < 19 CIMEventManager::GetFileEvents
11.02 20:50:45+ 4110 [0860] 50  I>        EngineFolderScanner: Signaled. Enabled: 1, idle for 0 ms. Event count: 1742
11.02 20:50:50+ 5000 [0860] 50  I>        EngineFolderScanner: Signaled. Enabled: 1, idle for 0 ms. Event count: 1893
11.02 20:50:55+ 5000 [0860] 50  I>        EngineFolderScanner: Signaled. Enabled: 1, idle for 0 ms. Event count: 2058
11.02 20:51:00+ 5015 [0860] 50  I>        EngineFolderScanner: Signaled. Enabled: 1, idle for 0 ms. Event count: 2212
11.02 20:51:05+ 5000 [0860] 50  I>        EngineFolderScanner: Signaled. Enabled: 1, idle for 0 ms. Event count: 2306

This hasn't happend with iMatch 2020. Any idea where to look? This beaviour is quite frustrating. The directories (pictures, database, app directory) are excluded in the Virusscanner. My Computer is fairly modern and I have no hickups in other apps. My database is rather small with ~50.000 files. Any help appreciated.  :)

Thanks, Timo

Mario

Always include the full log file please.
Posting a couple of rows from somewhere does not help much, the important bits may be elsewhere.

The folder scanner is triggered when Windows sends "Something in this folder has changed" messages to IMatch.
Looking at the number of events, something is really busy making modifications in the file system. Maybe your virus checker?

Did you create an exception for the database folder and IMatch as recommended in the help? IMPORTANT: Virus Checkers
IN 95% of all "IMatch is slow" support requests, the virus checker is the cause.
As explained in Upgrading to IMatch 2021, the name of the IMatch executable has changed, so a previous exclusion in your virus checker will no longer be working.

If it is not the virus checker, try to find out what on your system is causing 10,000 file system change events in about one minute...
IMatch has to react on these, processing them in batches. And with this huge amount of events, this can keep IMatch busy for a while.

Thank you Mario! I added the executable to the list of exceptions. I thought the IMatch-Directory would be enough. In the last 30 Minutes there were no severe freezes and those strange lines in the log disappeared. I'll keep an eye on the issue and the log file. Thanks for your help and explanation. I hope the issue is gone. Otherwise I'll come back with a complete Log-File.

Herzliche Grüße, Timo
