In the different windows layout (in Edit) I don't see the item Category. I see keywords, which I am not using, but not Category. I want to be able to see what Category each photo has assigned to it and also see photos where no Category has been assigned. Much like one can see the Keyword in the "Titles, Descriptions and Keywords" layout. I need to have a layout where the Category of the photo is shown.

You can show categories using a custom template.

Start by reading Tune Your File Window Layouts and Custom Templates in the IMatch help.

A variable like

{File.Categories|replace:~;==, }

is a good starting point. See List of File Variables for more info and examples.

Thanks again Mario.
I was able to figure out what you wrote and was able to add the custom variable. Now I can see what Categories I have added to each photo in thumbnail view. A million thanks!
