#01663 Rating Files

The changelog text implies, that there is also a way to restore the old behavior : "The rating keyboard shortcuts in the File Window and the Viewer no default to toggle"

I don't find anything in help, the forum or in the settings. How I can restore the previous behavior?

The ways the rating keyboard shortcut toggles has been changed. There is no option or anything.

I wonder why this has changed. Any feature request? At present I think it is confusing.

Please go back to the old way of rating files.

The change was done based on observation, to unify how rating and -1 ratings (reject) work and to make Viewer and File Window work the same.
Sometimes it is useful to roll out an enhancement or change and then see how users react to it. And to roll back or add options.
Since it usually takes 3 months or so before a new IMatch update is installed by the majority of users, feedback takes time.

I personally like the change... it has saved me trouble when "revisiting" images that already have a rating and I accidently remove the rating since it already had the same rating.  A toggle can lead to mistakes - an absolute key to remove a rating can help avoid them... but I'd be happy either way!

Agree.. that is why I liked the change... if I wanted to remove a rating - I hit 0... if I want to make it 4 - I hit 4.  With a toggle, if you hit 4 and the 4 already exists - it removes it.... that can lead to mistakes.

All good either way though... been using software long enough to just roll with changes as they occur.

Then just keep the default for the new option, and pressing <4> for a file with rating 4 will reset the rating, as it is now.
