Events: how to remove files from Date Based Event?

I just created an event based on a start and end date - it added in 4000 files which is correct.  However, there are about 7 images on the first day and 4 images on the last day that are not part of the event (just photos of my cats around the house   )  I was hoping there was an easy way to remove those files from the event even though they correctly were added based upon their date?

If you need to do this, convert the date-based event into a file-based event. Then remove the files.
