unwritten metadata - question/bug?

Hello,
1. selection of e.g. 150 photos of a folder (TIF, JPG and DNG), the photos are on a NAS folder (1Gbit LAN)
2. forced update to read new metadata from photos. In this case because of the PersonInImage tag without region metadata
3. imported persons are displayed as labels under the blue box.
4. move blue box to person and convert to 'real face annotation'
5. when ready, select all 150 photos again, select a photo with a yellow pencil icon and update all 150 photos with the current metadata including PersonInImage tag and region data
6. result: for an indeterminable number of DNG photos only (randomly distributed?) the yellow pencil icon is active again with the following info: unwritten metadata, concerns: XMP::exif\DateTimeOriginal, XMP::photoshop\DateCreated, XMP::xmp\CraeteDate
Question: how does this situation come about that I have to perform the update again for some photos?
Regards, Uwe

Mario

For a file with this problem, click the pen in the MD Panel in front of date created / create date and write back.
My guess would be out-of-sync timestamps in the EXIF native data and the embedded XMP record.

Run Metadata Analyst on a problem file to see what problems show up. Then repair metadata.
See the MDA help and Metadata Problems and Pitfalls for common problems and solutions.
