Option to Exclude Subfolders when Rescanning

If you add a folder to the database, you can exclude subfolders.  But then if you ever want to manually trigger a re-scan of the folder, there does not seem to be a way of preventing the subfolders being added to the database.  They then have to be manually removed from the database.  This can be a pain if the subfolders contain many files.

In general: You should not have folders managed by your DAM that are not indexed by your DAM.
Your approach to manually remove sub-folders after IMatch has added them seems to indicate that you are doing just that?

Tip: if you want to exclude certain sub-folders, e.g. settings folders created by some RAW processors all over the place, you can exclude them via a regular expression in the Skip these folders in Indexing.

Maybe I didn't explain clearly.  I don't want the subfolders managed at all - IMatch adds them (against my wishes) when I rescan the parent folder.

I do use the regex Skip Folders option, but also I have (in some databases) folders which are added on an ad hoc, one-off basis.

When you manually force a folder rescan, the folder and all sub-folders are rescanned, new folders are added, no longer existing folders are removed. That's the purpose of a manually triggered folder rescan.

In general, you should not mix managed folders and non-managed folders in your DAM. This leads to problems all the time, and this is why IMatch intentionally does not actively support this kind of workflow / folder layout. I guess 99% of all users are good with that.

Move the folders you don't want to manage in your DAM outside of the folder hierarchy you manage in your DAM.

Ok. (But that kind of makes it pointless to have the option to exclude sub-folders when adding a new folder to the DAM.)
