I am trying to cast an iMatch slide show from my PC to my Chromecast that is connected to a TV.   Both on the same network.

Question 1: related to the appearance of the Slide show... I want the images to be expanded to the full screen, but not over scanned.  I want landscape mode pictures to fill the screen side to side and the portrait mode image to fill the screen vertically (not side to side).   What edit settings will accomplish this ...  I cant seem to get that to work, even on the PC.

Question 2:  Getting chromecast to work!   Chromecast seems only want to cast from the chrome browser.  What are my other options.  Has anyone "cast" a slideshow from a pc to the tv using a network.   I   could resort to using an HDMI cable but why?>:(

Is there an app or other software that can accomplish this?

1. The slide show has three modes for image resizing:
Fit to screen: reduces the size of images when they are to high/wide.
Scale to to fill: Scales images to fill the screen, clipping may occur.
Scale to fill, allow grow: Scales images to fill the screen. Images smaller than the screen are enlarged. Clipping may occur.

In the scale modes, IMatch fills the screen either vertically or horizontally (depending on the image aspect ratio) to use the full width / height, This can mean that parts of the image in the other dimension are clipped (outside the screen).

Fit to screen is the default mode.
Depending on the aspect ratio of your images in relation to the monitor, borders may appear on two sides.

And there is of course IMatch Anywhere.

Replying to my own question, part two....

You can cast, but it is not obvious how.

From within chrome browser three dots at upper right select 'cast etc' then can select your device from list and the source: tab or screen.   BUT YOU HAVE TO SELECT SCREEN PRIOR TO SELECTING THE CHROMCAST DEVICE.... then go back and select the device.  It works for whichever screen you want including iMatch.
