I found that sometimes if I click on a video file iMatch says it encountered a problem and needs to close.

I have traced this problem to my use of a second monitor:
    If I
hover the cursor over the image: no problem ... mini clip of video
Single click: no problem.... selects file and show mini clip
Right click: no problem... shows menu as it should
Double click:  PROBLEM if second monitor is connected .... iMatch give an error that it needs to close.
If I disconnect the second monitor iMatch shows a full screen image of the first frame.

Note iMatch is set up to show a image on the second monitor when it is double clicked.

Not a big problem, but I just need to avoid double clicking!

(Computer is DellXPS17 laptop with 64G mem     Second monitor is a Dell U2723QE)

Double-click means "Open file in Viewer". For videos, it loads the cache image or creates one when there is no cache image.

Is the Viewer on the main monitor or second monitor?
I just tried both and IMatch has no problems loading videos in the Viewer, whether the Viewer is on the main monitor or secondary monitor. Or IMatch is on main IMatch window is on the main or secondary monitor.

Does IMatch produce a Dump File and shows instructions on what to do with it?
On a 64GB system Windows may take a while to produce the dump file.

Please also attach a ZIPped version of the log file when you report issues. See log file. This gives us a minimum of information to work with.

Here, double-click means "Slide Show...".

Just tried to reproduce (with two Monitors), but everything works as expected. No crash.

Just fyi: I've tested double-click, "Send to Viewer" and "Slide Show...". Everything opens correctly on the second Monitor.
