Why CTRL-Click to delete a keyword?

Why is something so simple so complicated that one needs to consult the manual?
Why not just use the delete key?

Clicking a keyword brings it into the editor.
Ctrl+click marks it for deletion, ctrl+click it again to un-delete.
You can also switch into the edit mode and edit keywords as plain text.

There is no concept for navigating within the keywords using cursor keys or some sort of "selected keyword". Hence <Del> cannot work.

As a personal side node: It may be because English is not my native language. But I find the tone of your messages sometimes a bit harsh. We are all working together here to make IMatch a better product. I want this to be a nice and friendly forum.

Sorry, I do not understand that. What has navigation to do with deletion?
I have selected it via clicking on it, why can't it just get deleted or marked for deletion when I press DEL? The current solution breaks basic UI expectations of users and so far I fail to see why it has to.
Breaking standard UI paradigms is not something to be done lightly.

Hmm, als Deutscher solltes Du doch eine direkte Ausdrucksweise gewohnt sein ;-)

The "current keyword" window has no selection. So there is no "selected keyword" <Del> could operate on.
<Ctrl>+clicking to delete a keyword is a pretty comfortable and straight forward approach. If you don't like it, switch into the edit mode and edit the text making up the keywords directly.

Klar. Aber direkt und agressiv sind zwei paar Schuhe. Aber es haben sich einige Forums-Mitglieder via PM und E-Mail über Deinen Ton beschwert.

Hmm, when I click on a keyword in the keyword list, it lights up in orange, that looks like a selection to me.

I have zero problems using CTRL-CLICK. Depending on current hand / keyboard placement it could be faster than click and delete.
I just find it rather strange when standard UI behavior expectations get broken and I have to resort to reading the manual for something that seems rather trivial.

Best wishes from Switzerland! :-)
