Favorites with more than one column

At the moment the program produces automatically a second and third (or more) column of favorites if I define more favorites than fit into one column.

It would be nice if I could define a number of columns by hand (with a setting). In this case it should be possible helpfull if single fields of the favorites could be empty.
In this case I could arrange the favorites in groups. The result could be something like that:
