Duplicated Description

On some old JPEG images, with descriptions\captions from Imatch 3, I get duplicated descriptions when I writeback.
I enter text in the metadata\default panel in the description field (xmp::dc\Description\Description\0), and after writeback, the field gets duplicated text:
example i enter "Im5Text" and after writeback I get:  Im5Text; Im5Text

When I use ECP to list metadata I find the text "Im5Text" in the following section:

[IPTC]          Caption-Abstract                : Im5Text
[IFD0]          Image Description               : Im5Text
[XMP-dc]        Description                     : Im5Text

Also tried the Caption Editor script without success.
Do I need to make a metadata template to delete IPTC ?  How ?

Please dump the XMP data via the ExifTool Command Processor.
Can it be that the file holds multi-language metadata in XMP for the caption tag (e.g. a left-over from an old Beta Version)?

The files is not from early betatesting, but straight from Imatch 3.

MARIO SAYS: I have removed the large amount of text data you posted and put it into an attachment - where it belongs.
Please don't just copy/paste. It floods the community search engine with nonsense data and also makes threads unreadable.

I see only one description in XMP.
Do you use the neutral language setting under Edit > Preferences > Metadata?
Which other settings do you use?
Send me a sample file, refer to topic 1707 in your email.
I'll import it here and see if I get the same problem.
