Search Bar default to ON

Can the search bar default to ON for most panels? Particularly for the Category and Metadata panels and for the Thesaurus, where scrolling a long list to find an item takes time, searching is the most efficient way. If the search bar is ON, it would save an extra click.

But then we would waste precious screen space for all users who don't search regularly. Better to show the search bar only when you actually want to search.

Maybe you can use the feature to add additional tabs with sub-sections of your category tree to the Category Panel? This allows much faster navigation in large category trees.

I would support this request. Not forcing anyone to waste space, but I find myself having to activate the search bar in the categories panel way too often. Would love to have this as a configurable option.
