Hey folks

As you can see in my attachement I have several disks and folders indexed by IMatch.

If you look at the Disk F at the end , there is written

F:
+ 10_timeline ....
+ 11_timeline ...

So if I must update these folders (I have disabled automatic updates), it is easy to do so.

But if you look at the drive C, you can see this:

C:
C:\
- 00_timeline ...

If now in the timline changes something, the C:\ becomes an icon to refresh.
And if I do so, then IMatch scans the whole C.

Do you know a way, to get rid of this "C:\", so that it would look like the drive F?
If the line C:\(0/5'894)  would be eliminated, all would be fine. But how can I do this?

You cannot remove a parent folder without removing the sub-folders. If you want to remove the root of C:\ from your database, this will also remove all other folders on C: from your database.

It would probably not too difficult for me to implement a feature which allows a user to remove a parent folder, then linking all sub-folders of that folder currently into the database to the element above the parent (media or drive).

So I leave it as it is, I was afraid and thought, that now I cannot do everything.

Hmmm, but could I do the following thing in this scenario?

C:
C:\
- 00_timeline ...

MOVE the "00_timline" to another drive, then delete the path C and then move back to C?
Or with a relocate thing?

Whatever you do, make a backup of your database before.

To be on the safe side copy "00_timeline..." to another drive, relocate it and remove C:\00_timeline ... from the DB.
If everything works out as expected, delete c:\00_timeline ... in Windows Explorer.

I know this is an older post, but I have the same issue, where I have added the root folder of my photo archive drive to the database, and then later added two huge backup folders for something else.

Removing all the files from the database and reindexing was not a viable option, nor was moving the folders.

Since I have my Windows options set to view hidden files, I marked the unwanted folders as hidden, and then turned on the Imatch options to skip hidden files and folders. (under Edit / Preferences / Indexing)

Posting in case this helps anyone.
