slideshow sizing

Whenever I run the slideshow function, all of my images appear slightly larger than the screen and then snap to a 'fit to view' size.   This sudden adjustment ruins the fluidity of the slideshow.   I have tried changing some of the slideshow functions, but none of them affects this.

Is anyone else seeing this?    How do I get the images to fit the available space without a sudden change?

Mario

Do you run the slide show in full-screen or window mode?
What are your settings?
Which Windows version, screen rez etc. do you use?

Is this report not a duplicate of your other report:

It happened during beta testing when I was using a large font. I have reverted to a small font. Tomorrow I will check if I see the same effect as Joe Austin when I increase font.

That was not my report, but does sound the same.

I use full screen mode. Settings shot attached.   Windows 7x64, 1680x1050 resolution.

Joe,
Tested it this morning, the post Mario refers to was created by me. I tried running 125% display and I can reproduce the effect you are seeing.

I suspect that you are running your display in Medium 125% (see attached jpg, where I have 100%).
Try running in Smaller 100% and I suspect the issue will disappear.

However, this does not directly help those of us who are a little older and prefer larger icons etc.! To get around this issue I personalized my window color and appearance.

To do this:
1. Open control panel and click on Appearance and Personalization
2. Click on Personalization and then Window Color at the bottom
3. In the Window Color screen, click on Advanced appearance settings
4. A dialog box will appear where you can change various aspects of the desktop appearance

Here you can change fonts etc.

The attached URL will give you an idea (though it specifically refers to changing borders)

Best wishes,
Aubrey.

Thanks Aubrey, that is the cause.

Seems like Imatch should be able to avoid that since it seems able to correct it on a delayed basis.

I don't need slideshow much so I think I'll keep my larger display size.

This sounds like a bug to me, isn't it?  If so we should move this thread to bug reports.

Aubrey

Perhaps it's a feature  ;)

I think it ought to be moved to Bug.

I did suggest it in :

There's already a bug report so I won't move this thread, but one of those experiencing the bug could perhaps post a link in the bug report thread to this thread.

Aubrey

Ferdinand,
done - I've linked the bug report with this.

This discussion has already been linked to the bug report by Mario in an earlier mail in this thread.

Yes - this issue is of long standing.  Not top of my list, but slightly irritating.
