Filter for Selected Files

Is there a direct way to do this:

I'm working with some selected files within a file scope and want to only view those files.

I do not want to enter the viewer, and would prefer to stay in one of the standard views (e.g. categories or media & folders).

I know you can do something like bookmark the files and filter on bookmarked files, but was wondering if there was a more direct way to accomplish this task which hypothetically might look like a right click option for "filter on selection".
