Copying Categories to a second database

I have had problems with a corrupt database and my last valid Pack-and-Go is some months back so I'll have to re-enter a number of folders.
I thought that it might be easier if I start a new database, Database-2016, and I have added one folder to this but I find that the Categories have gone back to the basic set.

Is there any way I can copy or move across the (extensive) set of categories that I had with Database-2015 to the new Database-2016?

I have just downloaded and am successfully running iMatch 5.6.10.

Thanks, Peter

You can use the Category Export and Import features in the Import & Export panel. These allow you to export categories from one database and import them into another. See the IMatch help for details. Just type category export into the Help Index to find the corresponding information.

This requires that you can still open the corrupt database, though.
If you cannot open the database in IMatch itself, try the Repair command available in the Database > Tools menu.
If this also fails, the database is damaged beyond repair.

Thanks, Mario, for your prompt reply (you must get up early!) -  it worked fine.
I was particularly pleased that by ticking the "Include File Assignments", the previously allocated categories for each file were retained.

Yes. I work 24 hours a day, and then another 24 hours a night. The rest if the day I sleep... ;)
