Hi - I'm having a problem where everything is cruising along quite well and then suddenly I can't load IMPTX files (print template files). This seems like it may be a recurring problem, I had it once before and had to rebuild the template file.

The log reads:

08.15 14:33:59+ 9438 [0B04] 00  E> Missing <link-name>  'PTPrintTemplateLoader.cpp(1537)'
08.15 14:34:00+  969 [0B04] 00  E> Missing <link-name>  'PTPrintTemplateLoader.cpp(1537)'
08.15 14:34:00+  297 [0B04] 00  E> Missing <link-name>  'PTPrintTemplateLoader.cpp(1537)'
08.15 14:34:01+ 1468 [0B04] 00  E> Missing <link-name>  'PTPrintTemplateLoader.cpp(1537)'
08.15 14:34:02+  578 [0B04] 00  E> Missing <link-name>  'PTPrintTemplateLoader.cpp(1537)'
08.15 14:34:02+  250 [0B04] 00  E> Missing <link-name>  'PTPrintTemplateLoader.cpp(1537)'
08.15 14:34:03+ 1000 [0B04] 00  E> Missing <link-name>  'PTPrintTemplateLoader.cpp(1537)'
08.15 14:34:04+  391 [0B04] 00  E> Missing <link-name>  'PTPrintTemplateLoader.cpp(1537)'
08.15 14:34:04+  281 [0B04] 00  E> Missing <link-name>  'PTPrintTemplateLoader.cpp(1537)'

Some of the template files do load but I haven't been able to find a solution. :-[

Thanks...

The template is broken. Some information is missing.

By the error message I would say that you have manually linked text containers to another container (named link), but then removed the other container without updating the link. IMatch should have noticed this during the delete or save operation and either remove the link or at least warn you.

Does IMatch display a message when loading this template? If so, which?
Did IMatch display a message when you removed the container to which links exists elsewhere in your template?

Please attach the template (zipped) so I can see what the problem is and how you can correct it.
The repair operation will be to change the link type of the container to default.

This is why IMatch D&P uses XML to store it's templates. This makes it easy to look into them and even to perform manual repairs.

If you can remember how you created this problem, open a bug report with the detailed steps for reproducing this. IMatch should not save containers with links to no longer existing containers.

I am having real trouble with this. What happened was that I added to a working template three pages (two cover and one back cover) with type on them and voila, the template broke. I don't see any manually linked text containers, and I don't believe there were any in the previous broken template (yesterday) either.

No messages from IMatch either on removal of text or on attempted load of file.

I'm attaching broken template.

Thank you for looking at this.

Sorry, that's the wrong template. Please don't waste your time with it. Do you have an email where I can send the right one?

I have not received your template yet.
If you want me to have a look, please send it. If it's a bug in Design & Print I want to fix it.
At least I should be able to repair your template and send it back to you.

I did send the file on 17 August at 5:48pm (my time) to <REMOVED BY ADMIN>

Please don't worry about this; I have used the print module a lot now and I have not been able to replicate the broken template. I must have done something quite off. At the time I lost some work but it's all a learning curve. I will post feature requests and bug reports to the right places.

Thank you for developing this module, it's most helpful and though I like the trustybatch processor, the print module is a big step up.

PLEASE do not include email addresses in your post. Communities like this are constantly scanned by bots to harvest email addresses to be used as SPAM targets and fake SPAM sources. There is a good reason that I protect me support email and display it only in 'save' form on the photools.com web site.

Please ZIP and send the template again. I want to have a look. IMatch should not save templates with broken links without warnings or automatic 'correction' to resolve the problem. Thanks.
