I found several ways to search or filter things which allow to hide off-line folders.

Now, i want the opposite ... what folders are offline?

I also searched the forum, to no avail :-(
Any idea?

Mario

You can hide off-line folders via the properties panel below the Media  & Folders tree. This feature has been designed for users who still work with larger CD/DVD/BR-D collections, which create many off-line folders.

There is no filter or search function for off-line folders. Such a thing is usually never needed. You did not explain why you would need such a function or for which purpose.

You can just expand all folders by selecting the Database node and then pressing * on the numeric keypad. Then you can easily find all off-line folders by just checking for the yellow off-line indicator icon.

Now ...
I always have some offline folder after rearranging folders when i did not do this with IMatch.
Just being able to show them, would help alot.

I seem to remember that i used this with IMatch 3, but maybe that was a script?
Cannot remember.

This trick with "*" helps ... thanks a bunch!

Again: Why not an right-click option?
NOBODY would try to use "*" to open all folders - anybody would expect to see such an option on right-click!

Too much work for you?
Send me the relevant parts and i voluteer to add the code for right-click options everywhere.
Increases usability a lot!
:D

Don't do that. You are using a DAM software. You should perform all file-level operations in your DAM, so IMatch can keep your database in sync with the changes done to the file system. This is how IMatch has been designed and should be used.

If you produce so many off-line folders that you want a dedicated feature to find them, I suggest that you re-consider your workflow habits.

This is a standard Windows command. I assume that users are aware of these commands, including the meaning of the +, - and * keys on the numeric keypad. They work the same in IMatch, Windows Explorer and all other applications which use Windows tree controls.

I even listen them in the the Media & Folders View help topic:

Not much more I can do, really.

Not too much work. But stuffing all possible commands into a context menu makes not much sense. It confuses users, makes thinks look intimidating, untidy and complicated. There are too many commands in the menus already.

Thanks a bunch!
I started to use the "x" on my number pad and am scanning other key-based options.

I use IMatch "differently" ... but from the internet i have the impression that others also do this ;-)
I manage more or less any and all of my filesystems, folders, and disks with IMatch.
So, nearly everything is in this or that IMatch database - it is quite naturally for me to manipulate things outside of IMatch. And this is no problem!

But sometimes, some things could be easier - like finding offline files and / or folders.

If it is not much work, just add this as Category or something.
It enlarges the usability!
DonĀ“t ignore other uses of IMatch ... :D

So, if you manage more or less all files and folders with IMatch, it would for me to be even more naturally, doing all such stuff (moving folders and so on) inside IMatch.
I do simply all folder-movings inside IMatch, and hence I have never such troubles like you.

But of course, users does and see things different, so you can do this, like you want do it.  8)
Best wishes from Switzerland! :-)
