What kind of problems do you have?

Did you follow the instructions how to download a spell dictionary for your language?
Just type spell into the IMatch help index and then open the dictionary topic from the result.

The Open Office and Library Office web sites re-design themselves frequently and you need to follow the links to the dictionaries. These sites are not under my control.

I just clicked on the link in the IMatch help and then followed to

http://extensions.openoffice.org/

This page has all dictionaries for all languages. Just search for your language.

Download and extract as detailed in the IMatch help.

Let us know which of these steps is troublesome.

I went to http://extensions.openoffice.org/ but which one of these do I pick?

For which language do you need a dictionary?

I clicked on "Dictionaries" on that page and then searched for English on that page.

The dictionary for U.S. English is, for example,

http://extensions.openoffice.org/en/project/us-english-spell-checking-dictionary

When I download this, I get a file named en_us.oxt. Change the extension to .zip if Windows does not detect that this is a ZIP file.

Double-click the file in Windows Explorer. Yo will see

en_US.aff
en_US.dic

you need for IMatch.

I know there are some hoops in this but I cannot change it. I cannot ship dictionaries with IMatch because they have licensed which forbid that. Users need to download their own dictionaries if they want to use the spell checker integrated in IMatch.

I have updated the help for IMatch 2017 to use a deep link directly to the dictionary page (hopefully it will remain valid for a while) and also included a notice about the .OXT extension they use now instead of .ZIP. It's hard to keep up with all the frequent changes.

I need an English USA dictionary.

This Link says "http://extensions.openoffice.org/en/project/us-english-spell-checking-dictionary"  "This extension was not updated recently. It might not work with latest versions of OpenOffice."
So I wonder if it is any good?

When I down load this file where do I install it?

How to download and install is explained in detail in the IMatch help. I could only repeat that here.
Just extract the .dic and .aff files needed by IMatch from the downloaded file and copy them into the folder specified in the help. Restart IMatch, done.

I'm sorry but I just can't find how to do this. I went to help and type SPELL in the Index search but I still am missing something. :'(

Open the Help file
Expand the tree to list the contents
Third from the bottom is 'Configuring IMatch' - expand this and third from the top is 'Spell Checker and Dictionaries''

Or enter 'spell checker' into the search box and click 'List Topics' - 'Spell Checker and Dictionaries' should be the second item in the list.  Click on this then the 'Display' button (or just double-click on it).

Hope that helps

Edit - I've just read your post again and I think I may have misunderstood.  Do you mean you have read the help file but still don't understand what to do?

Mario

What did you do so far?

1. Downloaded the dictionary archive?

2. Unpacked the .dic and .aff files?

3. Copied these files to the spell dictionary folder?
As explained in the help, you can see the correct folder under Edit > Preferences > Application: Spell Checker. By default the folder is

C:\ProgramData\photools.com\IMatch5\dictionaries

This is where you copy the .dic and .aff files.

4. Enabled your language and spell as you type as shown in the screen shot below?

Where does the language go?

If you have installed the dictionaries into the correct place and you have restarted IMatch (!!) you can click on the down-arrow on the right of the language row and pick a language.
On your screen shot this is empty so you either did not select a language or, when you cannot pick a language, you have not copied the dictionary files into the right folder or you did not restart IMatch.
Please review the help topic again and follow the steps indicated there.
