I currently run IM5.8.4 on Win8.1

I did a Pack and Go with the intention of installing program on Win 10.

I ran installation program as 'Run as Administrator', opened program then closed it.

I then ran Pack and Go as 'Run as Administrator' and did a restore.

Opened up IM5 and opened my Database.

Clicked on View/ Workspaces but none of my saved Workspaces I had created appear in the list.

Any help welcome.

Also all my Presets for the Renamer are missing.

Also my colour scheme for Thumbnail Panel Colours etc  are all set as default.

Do you use the same user name on both computers?

Also: Why did you use Pack & Go as an Admin? Windows may set the file system privileges differently, not allowing your 'regular' user to access some or all of the restored files.

RE: User Name.

I thought I did. How do I find the user name I used with IM5 on Win8. Have looked everywhere for Customer Information but can't find it.

When I first ran Restore on Pack and Go about 400 packets were not copied, so thought it was an administrator problem so ran again as Admin.

I'm talking about the Windows user name. IMatch stores settings per-computer, per-user, per-database. Settings for "Tom" are not accessible to "Peter".
You need to use the same Windows user name ("log in name") on both computers. Or the Alias user name in IMatch (see help).

If 400 packages could not be restored something is wrong. If P&G cannot restore the files using your user account, restoring them under an Admin account may work, but the files may still be inaccessible when you run IMatch on your regular user.

Did you check why P&G could not restore the files? The log files are very detailed.
You can also restore to a different folder and then copy the files manually, in Windows Explorer. The most important file is the settings database, which goes into C:\ProgramData\photools.com\IMatch5\config.

Hi Mario thanks for your help, I now have it sorted.

User name was the same.

I think what happened was when I first installed IM5 on my WinX machine and ran Pack and Go I had  'Restore to original folders' selected but also 'Don't replace newer files' selected too.

So I uninstalled IM5 completely, also manually removing files from C:\Users\Paul and  C:\ProgramData.

Reinstalled IM5 and ran Pack and Go with  'Restore to original folders' selected but with 'Don't replace newer files' deselected.

Now runs fine.

Thanks again.

Paul
