Where can I find out what these icons mean?

If you are in one of the root levels (i.e. not in a topic) and you scroll down then at the bottom you will see some icons and a description. Depending on the level the icons and descriptions shown can be a bit different. Most of the icons from your screen capture are explained there. Hope this helps a bit.

There are only seven icons explained here. Are there any more?

I joined only a few days ago, so I'm still figuring out things as I go. Perhaps someone else knows where to find more info on the icon descriptions.

In addition to the seven icons in the first column, you can set a message icon (second column) when you create a new topic. See screenshot.

If there's an attachment, the 'standard' icon appears to become a paperclip.

I have never cared about the icons.
