Hi all,

As a Nikon user I calibrate all glass ware and body combinations by using AF Fine tune.

Now,I just became curious about the info displayed in Metadata panel of an image. Following the On/Off-info there is either number 1 or 2 in parenthesis. What does 1 or 2 mean?

I have no idea.

Nikon does not document their maker notes by intention.
When ExifTool shows a value, this value has been defined based on analyzing exiting files, guesswork and information provided by users like you. People help Phil Harvey (the ExifTool author) by taking test shots, looking at the metadata and then telling him that "setting A results in value 1 in this tag".

Feel free to post a question in the ExifTool forum. Maybe somebody knows what these values mean.
Or, take some test shots with different settings and look at the metadata. Maybe there are "better" values (e.g. names Nikon uses in their software) and Phil can add them to ExifTool.
