Can't Add Applications to Favorites Panel

Hello, I apologize if this has already been answered -- I did a search but didn't see my specific issue.

I understand that some app shortcuts can't be dragged to the Favorites panel, but for some reason I can't drag any application shortcuts over. Whenever I try, the mouse pointer turns into a circle-slash icon. I've tried dragging shortcuts from the Start Menu as well as making my own from program folders. It doesn't seem to make a difference.

I did notice one remark in another thread about 64-bit applications. But I don't think it applies to my problem; I'm using the x64 version of iMatch as well as Windows 7 x64 and 64-bit versions of the apps I'm trying to get into the Faves panel.

This is such a handy feature, I'd hate to do without it. Any help would be appreciated, thank you!

Just tried, works great. I used Photoshop CS, Lightroom, Affinity Photo and Designer, Excel, Word, Firefox, Chrome....

Note: You cannot drag from the start menu when you search for an app.
And the App must not be a "special link" I think (advertised or store app). I could not drag Paint 3D, for example. These links are created in a "special" way and don't link to the application but to Windows installer.

For these apps, you first need to create a shortcut somewhere (e.g. on the desktop or in a folder) and then drag this shortcut to the Favorites panel. Som

I've tried doing that, even manually creating shortcuts for various apps and trying to drag them in that way. Same thing -- the icon changes to a circle/slash and the link doesn't appear in the Favorites. This is the case with every program I have tried -- Photoshop, XnView, Prelude, Illustrator, everything. It doesn't matter how I do it, the shortcuts just won't copy over to the Favorites menu.

Just tried, works for me. I used the .exe from my editor Ultraedit. Just two things to check for you:
- It works only for shortcuts, not for the programs itself. E.G. I can not drag the EXE from C:\Program Files\...\uedit64.exe to the panel, but creating a shortcut to this file and dragging the shortcut to the favorite panel works as expected.
- (Sounds far-fetched, but who knows?) The database must not be in Read-only mode.

The only other two things which come to mind:

1. You cannot drop on a system Favorite tab (Category or Folder History)
2. You can only drop files with the file extension .lnk (Shortcuts).

I'm getting the circle-slash icon when I try to copy a shortcut. I've tried with various shortcuts, even ones I was able to copy to Favourites before. Any ideas?

Mario

Nope, sorry. Works here.

What exactly are you doing?
I just tried:

Type Photoshop in Start menu
Right-click on the Photoshop icon in the results. Choose "Open File Location".
This opens a Windows Explorer window with the link to Photoshop.
Drag this into the Favorites Panel. Done.

Yes, I've tried that exactly and it doesn't work. I've also tried creating a shortcut on the desktop and copying that and it too doesn't work. I've had the problem for a while but last week it worked but won't today.

Strangely, after stopping and starting iMatch several times, it has worked. Don't know what's different though.
