I've just had a viewing of The IMatch tutorial video, "The Smart @Keywords Category in IMatch" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5gP0KdHUTG0), in which towards the end, it is pointed out how it's possible to set up a filter on values, with "Keywords" selected that would allow the IMatch user the possibility to have a list of all the keywords available to choose from, with respect to the scope of files, visible in the file window.  As of now, it appears impossible to have such a list mapped out for all of the IMatch Categories, probably because IMatch Categories aren't referenced as metadata (tags).  Is there a workaround for this?  It would be very convenient to also have this for Categories, as well as for the Keywords!

Did you try the Category Filter?

The Category Panel shows you the categories used by one or more files in the current scope. As well as the File Categories Panel and the Category Dashboard app.

Yes, I know what the Category Filter is, but is it possible to (a) have it display only that part of the category tree, to which the scope of images belong, and (b) provide a one-click way to narrow the scope even further, as is done with the value filter, by clicking one, or more of the check-boxes.

The Category Filter tree indicates the categories used by all or some of the files in the current scope.
If you keep the Category Panel or the File Categories Panel open at the same time you see this information. Filtering down the Category Filter tree to only the categories used in the current scope would be doable, but I have no idea about the performance implications etc. it would have to do this whenever you move from one file to another or change the selection in other ways. Rebuilding the tree control would cause a lot of screen flicker etc. Not sure that this would be worth the effort to run even some tests. Add a feature request so other users can join in.
