Please implement the automatic recognition of. lmnr files produced by Luminar 2018.
Within them is incorporated the original RAW or JPG file that has been edited and also other resources used as textures or LUT files.

I have put two file in https://www.dropbox.com/sh/y6ep0cxaji1eri2/AAA4obMsISgeyGFA1eLHAAfya?dl=0

Thank you.

I have downloaded the sample files, thanks.
I have updated the file format configuration file for IMatch to identify .lmnr files.

I have attached the new schema file below. Download the ptpiconfig.ZIP attached below, extract it and it and replace the existing ptpiconfig.xml in

%PROGRAMFILES%\photools.com\IMatch6\plugins

with it. Then rescan the folder containing the .lmnr files and IMatch will pick them up.

No metadata can be extracted. ExifTool can extract ZIP header data though.

As far as I can tell, this is not a standardized file format but a proprietary file format of that software. There are no WIC codecs and none of the image libraries used by IMatch can handle the files.
After a closer look I know that these files are actually ZIP files and that they contain multiple resource sub-folders and stuff. No documentation is available or at least I could not find any. Do they document their file format in the documentation that comes with the software?

For example, the file 20180430-161156-007-.lmnr
has several sub-folders. In the folder Contents\History\resources I could find a file named 8b5ea410-4373-461c-be6e-d3df5bfcdc68.JPG which is a regular JPEG file. There are also some other files with with extensions like .miplcompressedmaskdata or .cube and unknown purposes.

The  20170701-203612-7011204 also has a Contents\History\resources folder, and this folder contains 3 files:

6428c1cc-b17c-4317-9824-c069680b0241.3dl
3840398c-183b-48f3-b76f-f2acf863bc46.ORF (Olympus RAW?)
af733f35-b705-44ee-bc9a-dfd404a314de.jpg

but the JPEG and the ORG file look completely different:

We would need a published file format specification before I can decide whether or not to invest further time into this. Support for proprietary and undocumented file formats is always expensive and causes a lot of headaches.

Yes I agree.

For the file in the .lmnr:

6428c1cc-b17c-4317-9824-c069680b0241.3dl -> LUT file a resource used
3840398c-183b-48f3-b76f-f2acf863bc46.ORF  -> Yes is an Olympus RAW - Original Image
af733f35-b705-44ee-bc9a-dfd404a314de.jpg  -> Texture file

For me a miniature and the LMNR stamp could be sufficient to figure the image I have catalogued.

Thank.

Marco

WHat is a LMNR stamp?
Did you ask the sofware vendor for a file format documentation?

No I have not asked  for a file format documentation.

For "Stamp" I would intend a logo of the vendor.

Thank for the  ptpiconfig.ZIP I will "install" it as soon as possible.

Marco

Mario

QuoteFor "Stamp" I would intend a logo of the vendor.

This is automatic. IMatch queries Windows for the logo of the associated application if it cannot produce a thumbnail.
If you have the software installed, it should associate itself with the .lmnr file extension and register an icon. Windows will refer to that icon when IMatch asks for it.
