I changed the icon of an app (tried several) but the new icon does not show up in Imatch.
What do I have to do to read in the new icons? Restart won't, Closing and re-opening the App-manager won't
do it either.

Mario

You changed the "icon of an app" how?

Did you replace the PNG file with another PNG file or did you change the name of the icon in the app.json?

Before anything else, close IMatch and clear the browser cache. Chromium may not notice the changes you have done to existing files for some reason.

Either delete the browser cache manually or set IMatch to delete the cache automatically on exit under Edit > Preferences > Application.

Note: Questions like this should go into the Scripting and Apps board, not into General Questions.

Clearing the browser cache did it.

By the way: I first tried using the help system. It did not find anything for browser, cache, nor browser cache.
Am I doing something wrong or are there not entries?
(I typed these strings in the search box and pressed return.)

Mario

Usually you don't need to do anything with the cache. So there is no separate entry in the help. All the help that is needed is displayed directly in the dialog box.
App developers should know about browser caches etc. Normal users don't. Normal users don't change icons.

It was the dialog box that I tried to find. I ended up browsing with the explorer until I found
the browser folder. Still don't know where the dialog box you mentioned is.

Mario

As I said in my initial post: Edit > Preferences > Application. Under "Developer Options" you find the cache settings.
