Constantly asked to update Exiftool

I have IMatch Anywhere running using the same database IMatch uses. I use the WebService Controller to stop the service, wait until it stops and then start IMatch. Each time I get the message attached and have to wait until the database is updated.

If I then close and start IMatch again, without starting the web service, it starts without having to update the database.

How can I get IMatch to recognise that it has already updated the database?

I was getting the same message a little while ago, my workflow is different though (I do not use IMatch Anywhere, but IMatch was asking for updating Exiftool on each launch). The problem in my case was related to the fact that I had installed IMatch in a custom program folder (instead of the default Program Files\photools.com folder).

I've got IMatch installed in C:\Program Files\photools.com\imatch6.

Do you use the same version of IMatch and IMatch Anywhere?
You can check in IMatch under Help > About and in IMatch WebService Controller.

Is the database writable for both applications?

Please attach the IMatch log file and IMatch Anywhere WebServices log file.

I process about 50 emails per day and have a backlog of several days.
Don't expect an answer soon when you sent me emails with attachments.

Did you see my questions?
Did you check this? Since no other user has reported any issues, this is the most likely cause.
Did you always keep both applications up-to-date? Skipped some updates? Database writable?

I sent the log files because I thought that's what you asked for above.

Both applications have the database writeable.

I missed your question about same versions. It's IMatch Anywhere Home plus that I have. IMatch prompts when there's an update but this only updates IMatch. IMatch Anywhere was an earlier version, which I've now updated from the customer portal. This has solved the problem.

Very good.

IMatch and IMatch Anywhere are separate products. They are not necessarily updated at the same time.
IMatch Anywhere has no built-in updater app. IMatch Anywhere WebViewer (when you open it with an Admin account) will inform you about updates via an alert right at the top.

It is important to keep both applications up-to-date.
