Question regarding selction of categories

Hello all,
since imatch 5 I select a category and than switch to the timeline to get the images according the time. Just the images which are selected in the category are shown in the timeline. This way I got small packages to work with e.g. in the viewer.

Now with imatch 2020 if I select a category and switch than to the timeline all images which are assigned to the timeline are shown.  There is n difference what I have selected in the category tab.

Is this behaviour with 2020 now correct?

What is the new solution for it?

Categories and the timeline are unrelated. Selecting a category in the Category View has no influence on the files shown in the Timeline or the Media & Folders View.
Or do you mean you use the Category Filter in the Filter Panel to filter for selected categories?
